Participants must know Right Angle Weave and Brick Stitch. Please refer to June 4, and June 9 for beginning classes in these stitches if you need to learn or brush up on them.

The Solomon’s Knot Motif is found in mosaics (and other mediums) throughout the ancient world. This example of the Solomon’s knot is found in Ravenna, Italy in Theodoric’s Palace but this motif is also found in Il Domus dei Tappetti di Pietra the floor.

The workshop translates this mosaic into a beautiful seed bead bracelet. You will learn to make the knot in different sizes to make a smaller bracelet, a necklace or earrings. There is homework for this class.

Summer
Summer Serenade

July 19, Saturday 10:00 – 4:00    $95

Remembering summer evenings, listening to the song of crickets and the whispering of the wind through the bamboo, inspired me to stitch “Summer Serenade”. The bamboo is stitched in simple tubular peyote stitch and the cricket is stitched in tubular and diagonal peyote stitch. The cricket is stitched in 15˚ beads;
I recommend students bring extra size 11˚ beads to stitch a –try out- cricket first. Please refer to July 6, and July 7, for beginning classes in these stitches if you need to learn or brush up on them.
